Originally from Auckland and raised in Whakatāne, Mackenzie brings a thoughtful, people-first approach to recruitment, shaped by her diverse background across travel, business, and operations. Since joining Grada, she’s become known for her warmth, honesty, and ability to build lasting connections with clients and candidates alike.

Mackenzie's Background and Experience

With a background that includes working as a qualified ski instructor, international flight attendant, and office manager, Mackenzie has always thrived in people-facing roles. Her career in recruitment began after completing a Bachelor of Business in HR and Employment Relations at Massey University, all while working full-time. Today, she focuses on architecture and interior design recruitment, known for her ability to understand the creative industry and build strong, long-term relationships. Her ability to juggle full-time work and study is a highlight that speaks to her drive, time management, and commitment to personal growth.

Mackenzie’s all about keeping recruitment personal. She’s approachable, honest, and takes the time to understand the bigger picture, focusing on long-term partnerships, not quick wins. For her, the best part of the job is the variety: meeting creative people, learning about different projects, and seeing it all come together when the right match is made. Outside of work, life’s full — mostly thanks to her very energetic toddler. You'll also find her getting far too competitive at games night, exploring new food spots, and planning the next family getaway. Her advice? Build genuine relationships and lead with integrity, it always pays off.
