James's Background and Experience

James began his professional journey as what he calls a “struggling golf professional,” completing a PGA apprenticeship before discovering his passion for recruitment while living in London. After returning to New Zealand, he founded Grada Recruitment with the goal of creating a people-first company built on trust and consistency. Over the years, James has achieved key milestones, including placing senior leaders across the built environment and winning accolades such as RCSA “Agency of the Year.” His deep understanding of the architecture and construction sectors enables him to consistently connect top-tier talent with some of the country’s most respected firms.
